Support Our 2014 Sponsors Throughout the Year

This Thanksgiving we received great news of another first time Sponsor of the 2014 Gayla.  Brent Industries is a local firm operating on South Ave. in Toledo.  They provide a smart alternative to the traditional methods of disposing of textiles containing hazardous and non-hazardous materials in compliance with EPA guidelines.  Utilizing a mineral spirits based dry cleaning process, they are able to recondition these materials for reuse.  The solvents used for cleaning are reclaimed and refined to produce a clean product for reuse.  Sponsorships are appreciated as they defray costs of the event, helping to direct a greater portion of ticket sales to the charitable objectives.  We look forward to meeting  Mr. Lange & Mr. Scott, and their guests.

Culinary Forces Join to Support LGBT Community

Tim Schulien will join with Pam Weirauch at Pam's Corner to provide the desserts for the Gayla this year.  Tim is returning for his second year, having brought about the dessert splendor of the 2012 Gayla.  Mr. Schulien is pictured below with Toledo Blade Columnist Barbara Hendel, who gave the 2012 dessert spread a particular mention in her column.  Pam is a great friend and supporter of the local LGBT communities, and respected local restaurateur.  We are grateful for the support, and excited to see what these mega forces of the dessert world will put before us this year!  Click the logo to visit the Pam's Corner website.

Why Marriage Matters Ohio is a grassroots public education campaign to build support for marriage equality in Ohio. This campaign is about having conversations and sharing stories, showing that same-sex couples and their families should be welcomed and treated fairly in Ohio. It is about opening hearts and minds throughout our state.
It is a discussion that allows Ohioans in communities across the state to examine their attitudes, beliefs, and assumptions about gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender people—to consider new information and perhaps reconsider old ideas. It is an opportunity to move a conversation forward about love, commitment, and family.
In Ohio, this conversation has begun. It is time to raise significant visibility of same-sex Ohio couples and their families. This project was founded by Equality Ohio Education Fund, Freedom to Marry, the Human Rights Campaign Foundation and the ACLU Foundation of Ohio.

                                        Mission Statement:

The mission of Toledo Mpowerment is to create a happy, healthy, united gay community through education and empowerment.

We are here to provide a safe place for 18-29 year old gay/bisexual/transgender men to make friends, get education they need, and to learn and grow from our programs so that they may go out into the community and help promote HIV education and safer sex.
